In and around Tacoma, WA (Pierce County), we are fortunate to be by the water and enjoy it's beauty and recreational activities offered. You can fish, swim, rent a boat, picnic, hike, or relax by the water's edge at nearby piers, beaches and the Boathouse Marina. Below are beaches available and links to additional information.

Point Defiance Marina     (Point Defiance Park)

At the Point Defiance Marina you will find:

  • Free Public Fishing Pier
  • Boat and Motor Rentals
  • Bait and Tackle 
  • Boat and Personal Watercraft Dry Storage
  • Public Boat Launch
  • Souvenir and Gift Shop
  • Guest Moorage
  • Fuel Sales 


Owen Beach     Point Defiance Park (5605 N Owen Beach Rd.)

Kayak Rentals at Owen Beach

  • Noon - 7pm daily (weather permitting)
  • Includes paddle, pfd (personal floatation device - aka life jacket) and float cushion.
